ABOUT US
A space to help you build the life you want to live.
We are a mental health practice located in Miami, FL. We support people seeking therapy to sort through emotions, strengthen relationships, and live with greater stability.
Our experience includes clinical support for re-entry and the transition back into community life, always with a professional and empathetic approach.
WHY JUST LIKE ME EXISTS
No one should have to feel alone with what they are going through.
Just Like Me is born from the conviction that every person deserves a safe space to rebuild their life with support, regardless of what they have experienced.
Karla Suárez, a therapist, created this space to support adolescents over 12 years old, adults, seniors, families, and individuals going through processes of change, pain, anxiety, loneliness, grief, or personal reconstruction.
Her experience also includes work within the prison system and in re-entry processes, always from a human, close, and respectful perspective.
MISSION
To support people who have experienced incarceration as they navigate re-entry, offering a safe, understanding, evidence-informed mental health space where they can return to community life with dignity, autonomy, and steady support.
VISION
To become a trusted mental health resource for people navigating re-entry in the United States and Latin America, recognized for an integrated approach, community impact, and the ability to support meaningful change from the first session.
OUR VALUES
The principles that guide every process.
Dignity and respect
Every person who comes to Just Like Me is welcomed without judgment, with empathy and full recognition of their worth as a human being, beyond anything they have lived through.
Hope as a driving force
We believe every person has the right and the capacity to build a fulfilling life after incarceration.
Commitment to meaningful outcomes
We work with evidence-based clinical methods, ongoing professional supervision, and close follow-up for each process.
Access and inclusion
Mental health support should not be a luxury. We offer a flexible model that adapts to different financial and social realities.
A whole-person approach
We look at the person as a whole: family relationships, work situation, legal process, emotional health, and sense of self.
HOW WE WORK
A flexible model that adapts to each person's reality.
We offer virtual and in-person support, adapting to the needs of each person and each organization we partner with.
Health services offered
Individual and group sessions, virtual or in-person, coordinated according to the needs of each case.
Ways to access care
Affordable sliding-scale fees based on each person’s situation, pro bono support for the most vulnerable cases, health insurance coverage, and institutional agreements for nonprofits.
WHO WE WORK WITH
We work alongside organizations that support re-entry processes.
We collaborate with non-profit organizations, transition houses, health centers, pre-release programs, and community supervision spaces that support individuals before, during, or after their return to community life.
At Just Like Me, we provide specialized therapeutic support to complement institutional work and strengthen continuity of care.
If your organization supports these processes, we can build a way to collaborate together.
