A space to make sense of what this stage brings up
The re-entry process can bring emotions, questions, and new challenges. At Just Like Me, we help you work through what comes up in this stage and build tools to support life on the outside.
We know this process closely because our work also began inside the correctional system and in probation settings, supporting people through therapy during deeply transitional moments. That experience allows us to offer a human, clinical, and nonjudgmental space to continue supporting the life that begins to take shape on the outside.
WHO WE SUPPORT
One approach, three different realities.
Every process begins with listening. Choose where you're coming from and we'll tell you how we can support you.
FOR CLIENTS
People in the process of social reintegration
If you are rebuilding your life after incarceration, this is a space where you can speak without being judged. Together, we create a plan designed for you: your pace, your story, your goals.
FOR FAMILIES
For families supporting with love
When someone you love is incarcerated or returning to life on the outside, the family also needs support. We help family members make sense of what they are feeling, better understand this stage, and support the relationship with more care, clarity, and support.

FOR ORGANIZATIONS
Organizations and institutions supporting re-entry processes
We work alongside nonprofits, transitional homes, health centers, probation offices, and pre-release programs. We offer specialized therapeutic support to complement institutional work and support the return to community life with a human, nonjudgmental approach. I want to learn how we can collaborate →
OUR APPROACH
Support rooted in real experience
Karla Suárez, mental health professional and founder of Just Like Me, developed part of her professional experience within the correctional system and in probation settings, supporting people through therapy during deeply transitional moments.
That experience allowed her to understand, up close, what many people go through before release, when returning to community life, and while rebuilding relationships, trust, stability, and a sense of direction.
That is why our approach combines personalized therapeutic support, respectful listening, and ongoing clinical supervision. Each process is worked on individually, with clear goals and practical tools to support every stage of the journey.
Just Like Me was born from a deep belief: every person deserves a safe space to be heard, make sense of what they have lived through, and build a new stage of life with professional support, dignity, and confidence.
Learn about our history →WHAT THE PROCESS LOOKS LIKE
Four clear stages, at a human pace.
First conversation
We get to know you and listen to what you are going through right now. This first space allows us to talk calmly, understand your story and your needs, and see how we can support you in a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental way.
A plan designed for you
After that first conversation, we build a personalized, evidence-based therapeutic plan. We define clear goals, a session frequency that fits your reality, and the tools that can help you move through this stage with more stability and support.
Ongoing support
We work through weekly sessions, either virtual or in person, depending on what you need and what is possible for you. Each session is designed to help you make sense of what comes up, strengthen personal resources, care for your relationships, and move through the process step by step.
Progress check-ins
We support the evolution of treatment with reviews at 3 and 6 months. These moments allow us to look together at what has changed, what needs more support, and the next steps to keep moving forward with greater clarity and confidence.
